About Coach

My CrossFit journey began in 2021 when a friend asked me to accompany her to the intro classes at Brickyard CrossFit - I have been hooked ever since! I have been an athlete for as long as I can remember, starting the sport of fencing at age 6 at the Rochester Fencing Club. At 14 years old, I became the first World U-17 Champion in foil from the USA and defended the U17 title two years later. I competed at seven Senior World Championships between 1997 and 2007 and won bronze medals in individual foil in 1999 and team foil in 2001. At the Olympic Games Sydney 2000, I competed in the women's individual and team foil events. I also won the 2001 NCAA Championships for Stanford University as a freshman recruit. After a 21-year career in fencing, I became the co-owner of the Rochester Fencing Club with my sister and fellow Olympian, Felicia Zimmermann from 2009-2019. I'm now a certified Leadership and Performance Coach and currently work at Deloitte at the U.S. Firm's Performance Psychology Division of Integrated Mental Health Services. Needless to say, I love coaching and supporting others to be their best!

Turning Point

Motivation & Passion

I love CrossFit for various reasons, but the biggest reason is the community at Brickyard CrossFit. This community always lights up my mornings and inspires me to work hard. I am an athlete who is often injured and feels all the years of her training, but CrossFit makes it possible to modify movements and still increase mobility, strength, and stamina. I also love that you are never bored - there is always something to work on, improve, and be excited about.
